Despite opposition from the Putnoe FOCUS Team and local residents the Tory councillor responsible for highways has pushed through a weight limit for rural N E Bedfordshire. This will mean more lorries having to use Wentworth Drive.

Cllr Sallyanne Smith "The Tories have just ridden roughshod over the needs of Putnoe residents. We have been petitioning and lobbying for a weight limit for Wentworth Drive itself, but instead local residents get this slap in the face."

Cllr Michael Headley added "Lorries should stick to the major road network where they belong, not take short cuts through residential streets in Putnoe. I assure you that we will keep campaigning for a weight limit for Wentworth Drive."
