GP Shortage

There is a big need for GP access across Bedford Borough, where there is just one GP for every 2,720 residents.

On top of this, the proposed expansions to GP provisions in places such as Wootton, Wixams and Shortstown have been dropped.

The government must prioritise infrastructure, capital funding and revenue expenditure for GPs so local residents' health needs can be met.

New GP surgeries should be provided upfront before houses in new developments are occupied.
