We the undersigned petition Bedford Borough Council to recognise the concerns of residents of Riverfield Drive who are suffering from the noise and reduced air quality resulting from excessive speed and greatly increased volume of traffic. Riverfield Drive is regularly used as a shortcut, made worse by the expansion of takeaway food outlets. The existing speed bumps are inadequate and fail to slow traffic driving at high speed along Riverfield Drive, often ignoring the pedestrian crossings. As a matter of urgency we call upon the council to invest in speed reduction measures on Riverfield Drive for the benefit of residents and the enhancement of safety for all road users.
