Black Lives Matter - Standing in Solidarity

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrat Group's Councillors have backed the Stand Up To Racism movement and Black Lives Matter.

Bedford Borough Liberal Democrat Group Leader Cllr Christine McHugh said: "Bedford Borough Liberal Democrat Group's Councillors stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and people who face racism on a daily basis. This outcry may have been triggered by the murder of George Floyd at the hands of four police officers, but the ongoing scourge of racism in our society that some people have to face day in day out must come to an end. Bedford Borough's hugely diverse population is something to celebrate and we will continue to champion the fight against racism which at its core is fundamentally illiberal and undemocratic in its nature."
