No Gritting Cuts

Conservative plans to cut 141 streets from the gritting routes were exposed following questions from Liberal Democrat councillors.

Following calls from Liberal Democrats, the cuts were reversed for this winter.

Henry Vann said, "This is a basic safety issue. We cannot let the Conservatives cut back on this vital work to save money. People can see that they are wasting money on their favoured projects. Cuts should come from there, not gritting fewer roads."

However, Henry Vann and the local Liberal Democrats need your help to stop the proposal coming back.

Henry said “Having come up with this idea once, there is every chance it will come back again. Please join our campaign to send a clear message that there should be no cuts in gritting.”
