Tree care and lighting improvements

De Parys Borough Councillors, Henry Vann and David Sawyer, have reported the trees in Tiverton Road for maintenance following a recent spate of problems.

The trees in Tiverton Road, which are mostly Cockspur Thorns have low branches with spikes hidden in the leaves. Six of these will now be raised to ensure that spikes do not risk injuring someone. At the same time, the base of some trees has become overgrown and this will be looked at at the same time.

In addition to this work, when recently visiting Tiverton Road, Cllrs Vann and Sawyer reported a severely damaged tree at the junction between Tiverton Road and Caves Lane.

New streetlights

Residents of Tiverton Road are now also benefiting from the new streetlights that have been put in place. These are greener, and lower maintenance than previous lights, as well as giving off a better light for road users. If you see broken or damaged streetlights, please contact Henry or David or the Borough Council on (01234) 228661 or by email at Highways.Helpdesk@bedford.gov.uk.
