Mayor Dave Hodgson visits the Centre for Independent Living

Last week Mayor Dave Hodgson visited the Centre for Independent Living, a day service for adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism and met with local service users who were making t-shirts as part of the employment programme the council offers.

Mayor Dave said "It was lovely to meet and talk to service users and learn about their experiences working with staff at the Centre and how the employment programme is helping them prepare for the world of work. The Centre has already helped over 50 people to find work within the Borough. I'd like to thank the service users who made me a fantastic "I love Bedford" t-shirt - you can support the Centre by purchasing a t-shirt at The Arc, Howard Street, Bedford who are working in collaboration with the day service."
