Mayor Dave Hodgson visited Bromham Lower School yesterday morning, where he met pupils and staff and talked to them about the move to a two-tier schools system. For Bomham Lower, this will mean current Year 3 pupils staying on in September 2017 as the school's first Year 5 pupils, who will then stay on into Year 6 in 2018/19 as the school becomes a fully fledged 4-11 primary school.

Dave spoke to Head Teacher Virginia Gilks and to a group of Year 3 pupils about how the school is preparing, and what the change will mean for them. They were all then interviewed by BBC Look East for a report which featured on its bulletin last night. It is available online via this link until 7pm on Thursday 11th February, and the report can be found after 9 minutes and 40 seconds of the programme.

Commenting on his Facebook page yesterday evening, Mayor Dave wrote:

"Huge thanks to Head Teacher Mrs Gilks and everyone at Bromham Lower School, where I joined pupils and staff in talking to BBC Look East about the move to a two tier schools system.

Look out during this evening's 6.30pm bulletin for the report, which should include some of the excellent contributions from members of Year 3, who have already been discussing with their teachers in depth what the change will mean for their school!"
