Mayor Dave - Working for You

Mayor Dave Hodgson has a record of saving services and keeping council tax down, standing up for Bedford Borough and bringing jobs and investment.

He also has a record of getting out and about to all parts of Bedford Bedford, of keeping in touch with people all year round, and of being accessible to residents.

Working for You

Getting out and about around Bedford Borough is one of the most enjoyable parts of my role as Mayor, but it's also an absolutely critical one.

Since the day I was first elected as Mayor I have worked hard week in, week out to get the best for our communities.

Getting the best for people involves making sure I'm listening to their views and ideas, such as via the the annual village tour I've held every year or other surgeries and events throughout the year.

We've opened up the Council, introducing no-notice public questions at meetings, and a threshold of just 30 signatures required for a petition to trigger a full council debate.

I also try to keep in touch with people via regular communication, and am grateful to you and everyone who receives my email updates!

The tough times for councils are ongoing, with no hint of an end to ongoing government underfunding.

I've got a record of saving services being lost elsewhere, standing up for our Borough and protecting our environment. And if I'm re-elected, I'll keep working hard for you, all year round, to deliver my promise of more over the next four years.
