Mayor's 'Huge Thank You' as 40th Anniversary River Festival is Celebrated in Style

Mayor Dave Hodgson has said a 'huge thank you' to everyone who visited and everyone involved in the 40th anniversary Bedford River Festival.
Writing on his Facebook page, where you can see photos and videos from across the weekend, Mayor Dave said:
"What a weekend. A huge, huge thank you to everyone who came and to everyone involved in the River Festival in any way, however large or small. I think it's fair to say the 40th anniversary was celebrated in style!"
Initial estimates indicate that the festival was visited by over 300,000 people, with huge crowds on both Saturday and Sunday across the site, which for the first time was extended to include St Mary's Gardens.
