My Record as Mayor - Delivering for Local Residents Across Bedford Borough

The key issue in the Mayoral election campaign has been the need to protect vital services for local residents while keeping tax down, at a time of real financial difficulties. In my short period as Mayor since October 2009, during which we have had to make £28 million of savings, I have prioritised the protection of services and, thanks to our approach of targetting waste and bureaucracy within the Council and focusing savings in Borough Hall rather than out in the community, we have avoided the widespread cuts seen elsewhere nearby across the country. I am proud to stand on my record, some examples of which have been uploaded onto this website in a list headed 'What a Difference a Dave Makes!" You can find it by clicking on the link at the top of the homepage here on www.mayordave.org.uk, or go straight to it here. Please have a look at some of the work I have been doing as Mayor.
