Police funding crisis - sign our petition for £300million extra.

The crisis in police funding has now reached a crisis point. Never before have the police been asked to do so much with so little.

Sadly crime, including violent crime, has been increasing. Despite much of it being drug and gang related, it effects everyone. At the same time, we have seen a reduction in community policing.

The situation is made worse as Bedfordshire is severely underfunded in comparison to other police forces.

The Liberal Democrats in parliament have been calling for an extra £300 million for policing across the country. Most of that money would be invested into community policing, which in too many areas have virtually disappeared. You can add your name to the campaign calling for extra funding for the Police here.
