PYLON TIDY UP
Cllr Phil Merryman was able to report more success in Goldington recently when he managed to persuade one of the electricity suppliers responsible for the pylon compound in Stainmore Road to tidy up the compound.
Cllr Merryman said, "It had become very overgrown with weeds and even had unsightly graffiti tags on it. Something needed to be done to this neglected area and fortunately the company responsible have listened and said they will deal with it."
It has been agreed that the weeds will be cut back and the detritis cleared, the tag will be painted over and new signs will be put up warning of the dangers of getting too close to the pylons.
Cllr Merryman added, "They have even agreed to put the area onto their schedule of regular weed killing so the place should continue to look tidy."
