Still no funding to run Wixams GP surgery

The new Loverose Way GP surgery is still waiting for NHS to agree to pay for the doctors and nurses needed.

Cllr Henry Vann, leader of the Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats, commented: 

“People in Wixams and Wilstead need doctors and nurses, not smug back-slapping from the Conservatives. Local health bosses need to pay for the actual GPs for Wixams. It is a scandal that under both the Tory and Labour governments they have refused to do that. The local Conservatives are yet again more interested in sound-bites and half-baked announcements than actually fixing the real problem here. 

Wixams has been badly let down by local NHS bosses. They must agree to pay for the GPs to serve this ever-growing community. All talk of a building is meaningless without that.”
