Stunning By Election Victory For The Lib Dems!

Roger Baines has been elected as the new councillor for the Houghton Conquest, Haynes, Southill and Old Warden ward of Mid Beds District Council.

With 55.2% of the vote, Roger achieved a famous victory in what was once a safe Tory stronghold. Labour managed just 3.3%, and the Tories shrunk to 41.5%. Labour have again finished a very poor last place in Mid Beds.

In his victory speech, Roger acclaimed the hard work his team had put into the election, and declared that it was a privilege to have been elected to work hard for the local community.

The full result is as follows:

Lib Dem - 741, (55.2% +14.2%)

Tory - 555, (41.5% - 10.5%)

Labour - 44, (3.3% +3.3%)
