Tory Run Bedfordshire County Council Worst in Country - Official

Results of the independent assessment released in December, show that Tory-run Bedfordshire County Council is the worst County Council in the Country. The Audit Commission has assessed the Council as "weak".

This follows the findings of the Commission for Social Care Inspection looking at services provided to vulnerable children. Bedfordshire received a no star rating for the second year running. Out of 150 councils, it was one of just five that, according to the Commission, "serve none of their children well."

Cllr Sylvia Gillard said "Under Tory leadership the County Council has been failing the people of Bedfordshire. The Conservatives have been in charge for 8 years. They are responsible for this pitiful performance which will appal the residents of Bedfordshire.
