Vince Cable Comes to Bedford and Visits Major Local Employer with Dave Hodgson

Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable came to Bedford yesterday and visited major local employer Wells and Young's Brewery with Liberal Democrat Mayoral candidate Dave Hodgson.

Commenting on his visit, Vince Cable said "I spend a lot of time visiting businesses to find out what is really happening on the ground in this recession. It has been extremely insightful to find out about the situation in Bedford and to hear the views of its largest private employer, Wells and Young's brewery. This is a company deeply rooted in the local community. I was very interested to discuss with them issues affecting the brewing industry including those relating to deterring irresponsible drinking and how Wells and Young's are meeting the current economic challenges."
