October is Black History Month, and Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats are encouraging everyone to take the opportunity to learn more about Black history and heritage in Bedford Borough and beyond.
This scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Works began on Ampthill Road in May 2021, to deliver major improvement works.
Liberal Democrat Councillor Jake Sampson spoke to Bedford Radio about his experiences with his mother who is deaf. Jake said that through his mother he sees the world with a different lens, "The world that I see as an individual with no disability, is very different to my mother. Not many people understand disability generally".
