Following news that the Beales chain of department stores is in severe difficulty in a further illustration of the national crisis for the UK's high streets, Bedford Borough Council's Executive Member for Town Centres Cllr Henry Vann has reaffirmed the authority's commitment to helping Bedford town centre and its businesses to thrive.
The Jobs Hub will, in partnership with its local training providers, be holding an Employment and Skills Information Day on the 20th January at the Queens Park Neighbourhood Centre.
From today businesses on St Cuthbert's Street have launched a campaign to beat the blues. Often in January, post Christmas and when the weather is now so great, people suffer a bit of a lull. Responding to this week's House of Commons vote on protecting child refugees, Liberal Democrat MP Tim Farron said that Tory MPs had "earned the labels" of "insular and inhumane" by voting against the cross-party amendment.
