Bedford Borough Council and Gibbs and Dandy, a leading building and construction material supplier, have announced a collaborative effort to improve energy efficiency in vulnerable households to reduce their energy bills. The Council has purchased £10,000 worth of energy-efficient light bulbs, and Gibbs and Dandy will match the Council's £5,000 investment.
Funding from S106 pots has been made available to increase the frequency of bus routes for Shortstown and Stewartby. The 68 service will be increasing its frequency during peak hours. The 9 service will be increasing its frequency and extending its service. These enhancements are planned to start from mid-April this year.
Bedford Borough is celebrating this Social Work Week by thanking all social care staff for their tireless efforts in providing support and care to those in need. Social Work Week is a time to recognise the vital role of social care workers in the Borough and to encourage others to consider a career in this important field.
