Council Declares Climate Emergency and Targets Carbon Neutrality
Bedford Borough Council's Executive last night voted unanimously to join the declaration of a 'Climate Emergency' and to begin work to make Bedford Borough Council carbon neutral by 2030.

Tiny Stronger Towns Fund Dwarfed by Government Cuts to Funding for Services, Says Mayor Dave
Commenting on the news that the East of England will be allocated £25 million over seven years from the Stronger Towns Fund launched by the government today, Mayor Dave Hodgson has said that any funding received by Bedford Borough under this 'tiny' fund would be 'dwarfed' by the vast, ongoing cuts to government funding for public services.

Network Rail’s Bromham Road Bridge Works to Begin on Monday March 4th
Network Rail's major works on Bromham Road Bridge begin tomorrow, Monday March 4th. This phase of works, which run until 18th April, involve the closure of the road westbound, out of town. Eastbound traffic, towards town, is not affected.

Bromham Road Bridge Works start Monday
From Monday, Network Rail will be starting work on Bromham Road Bridge. This will require a partial closure of the road. Please do look at alternative routes if you normally use the Bridge and allow more time for journeys.
