Another Conservative Council faces cash crisis

Conservative controlled Surrey County Council faces a £94million funding gap by March 2021 according to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) who conducted an independent review of its finances.

Online school admissions now open!

Bedford Borough Council's online admissions systems is now open to all parents and carers whose children are due to transfer to secondary or upper school in September 2019.

Progress still to be made on tenant rights

Speaking after the Tenant Fees Bill progressed through the House of Commons last week, Bedford Borough Liberal Democrat Housing Spokesperson Dean Crofts said "Tenant fees are often unreasonable, lack transparency and make the upfront costs of moving extortionate. People should not be punished for moving home. That is why Liberal Democrats have long campaigned for a ban on tenant fees with Baroness Olly Grender having previously introduced a Renters Rights Bill.."
