Mayor Dave Hodgson visited Harrold Lower School recently to see the brand new permanent classrooms which have been constructed as part of the programme to abolish temporary classrooms across all Bedford Borough schools.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has welcomed employers exhibiting at The Jobs Market at Bedford Corn Exchange, which is open until 3pm today (Wednesday 10th September). Last year's event saw more than 1,200 members of the public attend over the course of the five hours, making direct contact with the 34 employers represented, alongside a number of training providers and information support services. More than 1,000 job opportunities were available on the day, resulting in more than 300 claimants signing-off after the event, and it is hoped that this year's event will be similarly successful.
Dozens of potential employers will be on hand when The Jobs Market returns to Bedford this week.
Having already held open street surgeries in 59 villages across Bedford Borough, Mayor Dave Hodgson will tonight visit Clapham, Oakley and Bromham on the final evening of his 2014 Village Tour. Mayor Dave's summer village tour has been a regular feature during his time as Mayor, and is intended to make it as easy as possible for as many people as possible across the Borough's rural areas to talk to him about the issues that matter to them. This year's event started in Ravensden back on the evening of Thursday 17th July, and will conclude tonight with the final surgery in Bromham at 7.30.
