Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats are calling for an emergency ban on no-fault evictions over the Christmas period, as figures show 117 families in Bedford Borough were put at risk of homelessness due to a Section 21 notice in the year 2022/2023.
Following calls from Liberal Democrats to take action on the Debenhams building, the Council have decided to buy the property.

The Conservative-run Council Cabinet have proposed a cut of £1.2 million from the road and pavement maintenance budgets. This will limit the Council’s ability to renew and maintain the road and pavement network.
Conservatives on Bedford Borough Council have revealed plans to be agreed at this week’s Cabinet meeting that will hit local residents in the pocket during this cost of living crisis. The general increase on Council fees and charges will be 7.5%.
