More Progress Towards Sustainable Solution on Gypsy and Traveller Sites as Meadow Lane Application Approved
This week's Council Planning Committee meeting was a busy one, as they often are. I'm not involved at all in determining planning applications, with planning being a 'regulatory' function of the council, rather than an 'executive' function, which are those I have responsibility for as Mayor. I was pleased to be informed on Monday night of good news for the Borough with regard to a number of applications.

Dramatic Multi-Storey Transformation at Bedford Bus Station Wins National Award
The Allhallows car park in Bedford has won the 'Best Car Park Refurbishment Award' in the 2015 British Parking Awards after its dramatic transformation as part of Mayor Dave Hodgson's bus station area regeneration project.

Bedfordshire Day Greetings From Mayor Dave!
Mayor Dave Hodgson has wished everyone a Happy Bedfordshire Day, and declared that he is 'proud of Bedfordshire and proud that Bedford is the county town.' The Bedfordshire flag has been flying from Borough Hall all day and, at Mayor Dave's suggestion, the staff canteen has been serving Bedfordshire Clangers and Chocolate Toothpaste!

Bedford Borough moved to Coronavirus Tier 3 – Very High Alert Level
The Government has announced that they are moving Bedford Borough in to Tier 3 - Very High Alert Level from Saturday at 12.01am. Central Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes along with other areas will also be moved into Tier 3.
