The English tradition of Morris dancing will take centre stage at The Higgins Bedford this St. George's Day weekend. On Saturday 22 April, from 11am to 3pm. The museum will host "Come In, St. George," a day celebrating Morris dancing with talks, discussions and displays of Morris dancing. It is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
Don't forget the clocks go forward at 1am tomorrow (Sunday 26th) morning to 2am.
Today marks the three-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. Bedford Borough remembers the residents we lost over this time and supports all those still suffering from physical and mental health issues from the pandemic. The Council has been praised for their outstanding work during the pandemic, from Mayor Dave Hodgson setting up the Community Hub, to the activation of thousands of volunteers to help support vulnerable people, to the provision of food for those in need and the provision of air filters in schools to ensure our pupils could study safely.
Bedford Borough Council has announced it plans to deliver major refurbishment and improvement works to the fitness area and basketball court in Bedford Park, starting tomorrow (Thursday 23 March).
