WATCH - Reaction as Full Council Backs Climate Emergency Declaration

At a Full Council meeting this week there was overwhelming support for Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Bedford and Kempston Cllr Henry Vann's amendment including recognition of the climate emergency and of the extensive ongoing efforts by Bedford Borough Council to tackle climate change.

Dreams and Nightmares at The Higgins Bedford

The Higgins Bedford is proud to present; Dream and Nightmares, an exhibition of incredible artworks drawn from the internationally renowned Cecil Higgins Art Gallery Collection, exploring artists depictions of dreams and nightmares, accompanied by the launch of a fully illustrated catalogue. The exhibition is sponsored by Oxford Brookes University and will be free to visit from 12th October 2019 to 22nd March 2020.

Council Commercial Property Vacancy Rate has Halved in Just Three Years

Bedford Borough Council's commercial property vacancy rate has more than halved in just three years, a report has revealed. Figures included in a report to last night's Budget and Corporate Overview and Scrutiny Committee show that the number of vacancies across the Council's Commercial property portfolio has plummeted from 15 in 2016 to just 6 in 2019.
