Rough sleepers in Bedford Borough will be able to access emergency beds every night throughout the winter, not just when temperatures drop below freezing.
Earlier today Mayor Dave Hodgson visited the Christmas Tree Festival at St. Paul's Church.
Mayor Dave Hodgson was delighted to attend the 'Kick-Off' event yesterday, as part of the opening of the O'Meara Sports Complex on Fiona Way. The complex has been handed over to Bedford Town FC from the developer Orbit. Mayor Dave joined Dennis O'Meara, the Bedford Town FC Youth Chairman, to open the complex. The complex will be the base for Bedford Town FC's under 8s through to under 12s. While a Bedford Town team played in a 3-way tournament with teams from Cambridgeshire, an open session was held for local youngsters which proved very popular and there were some silky skills on view! Goldington Liberal Democrats Councillors Christine McHugh and Tim Caswell also attended the opening of this new local facility in their ward. Polls are now open in for the General Election and will remain open until 10pm this evening.
Harpur Square will host the Bedford Christmas Market on Saturday 21st December.
