Guardian and Observer back Lib Dems in Bedford to win - Lib Dems step up campaign for the last two days

The Guardian and Observer has backed the Liberal Democrats to win in Bedford and Kempston in the General Election, recommending that Labour voters jump ship and back the Liberal Democrats in the seat. In the last few days, Henry Vann, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Bedford and Kempston, has stepped up the campaign working harder than ever, the polls point to a close race in this constituency.The Times newspaper picked the constituency out as a three way marginal.

Henry Vann sets out priorities for Bedford and Kempston at public meeting

Henry Vann spoke at a hustings meeting at the Ent Shed on Wednesday 28th April with the Conservative and Labour Party candidates for Bedford and Kempston. At the meeting he set out his priorities for Bedford and Kempston: Fair taxes; a fair start in life for children and young people through greater investment in local education; jobs growth locally including investment in East-West rail; and political reform to make politics fairer.

Launch of 'Pints in the Parishes'

I will soon be embarking on a series of 'Pints in the Parishes' events to enable direct, ongoing contact with the Borough's rural residents in an informal setting. I have written to each of the Borough's Parish Councils asking them if they would like to nominate a local pub in their area which would be happy host the event in their parish.
