Campbell sets out environmental challenge

In a hard-hitting speech in Norwich today, Sir Menzies Campbell, leader of the Liberal Democrats, spelt out the Liberal Democrat challenge on the environment. He criticised "A failure of nerve from the government. And a surfeit of spin from the Conservatives."

Crime Prevention is a Central Theme in the Liberal Democrats Local Election Campaign.

Liberal Democrat Leader, Sir Menzies Campbell, has highlighted the Party's crime initiative. He dropped in on Liberal Democrat-controlled Sutton to meet police officers and council staff who work together at the town's police station to provide neighbourhood wardens, drug and alcohol abuse services, wardens, truancy liaison officers and domestic violence services. "Preventing crime is very much a liberal issue," he said, during the visit.

Top Tory admits they may not win the next General Election!

Francis Maude has admitted that the Conservatives may not win the next General Election. Simon Hughes, Liberal Democrat Party President said "This admission that the Tories cosmetic conversion is failing to win over the British people is unsurprising. On the environment, on education and on civil liberties, the Tories have been all talk and no action. They have failed to put forward any actual policies to tackle climate change, have supported Tony Blair's flawed education plans, and caved in on ID cards."
