Mayor Dave Hodgson has wished all who are celebrating a happy Diwali.
We're now in week three of the major roadworks to completely reconstruct St Mary's Street in Bedford. As I've written on here before, these emergency works are required after a survey showed the road to be in danger of collapsing. It is the first time in decades that we will have late evening buses in Bedford and Kempston, and I am delighted we have been able to reach an agreement on this with Stagecoach and achieve a significant extension of bus services into the evenings. We are also continuing with the new Sunday services we introduced last year, which see the Monday to Saturday routes replicated on Sundays and a minimum frequ
Mayor Dave Hodgson has slammed the decision by NHS Commissioners to pursue plans to downgrade Bedford or Milton Keynes Hospital despite a plea from Bedford Hospital itself to drop the proposals and take a different approach.
From 17 to 31 December families are invited to visit Bedford Borough Libraries for free fun craft activities and story-times. Bedford Central, Bromham, Kempston, Putnoe, and Wootton libraries all have events and activities planned. Crafts include; creating paper party hats, New Year calendars and Christmas cards. There will also be colouring, board games, Lego clubs, and story-times.
