GCSE Results for 2016

Initial GCSE results figures from local schools show an improvement overall both in terms of students' attainment and the progress made by students. The figures show that Bedford Borough students have, overall, made more progress than their peers across other parts of the country, and have made a greater improvement than would be expected for students with similar 'prior attainment'.

Mayor's A Level Congratulations as Rising Number of Borough Students Get Top Grades

Students across Bedford Borough received their A Level results on Thursday, and there were celebrations as the proportion of entrants achieving at least one A* or A grades rose once again, to nearly one in two. The provisional figures, based on returns from eight upper schools, show that 45.9% of students received at least one top grade, up from 42.3% in 2015. This increase was achieved by students in spite the proportion of top grades nationally decreasing slightly.
