Mayor Dave Hodgson yesterday attended the launch of the latest 'BedPop' Pop-Up shop at 68 High Street, Bedford, where two small Bedfordshire businesses will be trading until Saturday. for a unique chance to see what it's like to have a shop in a major town centre.
On the eve of its reopening last Thursday following its latest phase of refurbishment, Mayor Dave Hodgson visited Allhallows multi-storey car park at the bus station to check on the progress of its transformation as part of the regeneration of the area. The much-needed, multi-million pound refurbishment of the car park is a major feature of the bus station regeneration works which also include new toilets, a new surface car park, new shop fronts and more, all in addition to a brand new bus station.

The Town Hall Office Block and neighbouring council blocks are being demolished to make way for a large, public riverside square and for new restaurants and retail outlets as part of the development which is bringing town centre cinema back to Bedford. The developers Coplan have announced operators that have been signed up to date, which include Vue Cinema and restaurants Zizzi, Chimichanga and Bella Italia.
Allhallows multi-storey car park will re-open to the public on Thursday morning as the regeneration of the new Bedford Bus Station continues.
