Bedford Borough is celebrating this Social Work Week by thanking all social care staff for their tireless efforts in providing support and care to those in need. Social Work Week is a time to recognise the vital role of social care workers in the Borough and to encourage others to consider a career in this important field.

Bus services increased for Shortstown and Stewartby

Funding from S106 pots has been made available to increase the frequency of bus routes for Shortstown and Stewartby. The 68 service will be increasing its frequency during peak hours. The 9 service will be increasing its frequency and extending its service. These enhancements are planned to start from mid-April this year.

Councillor Charles Royden, Portfolio Holder for Environment, joined representatives from Places for People, Bedford Borough Council and other partners for a site visit of Adamson Court, Kempston in February It was an opportunity to learn how funding from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund will be used to benefit residents.

Mayor Dave unveils ambitious town centre restoration plans

The former Goldings building on Bedford High Street has been restored to its former glory as part of the High Street Heritage Action Zone restoration programme. The scaffolding has come down to reveal brilliant gold lettering and the iconic Goldings logo painted on the building.
